Most of us know that the common American diet lacks nutritive value. This fact becomes even more important when we consider nutritional needs during pregnancy. In general, as the demands of living increase—balancing work, family, spiritual, personal, and other areas — our nutritional requirements also rise to handle the increased load. This is especially true during pregnancy, which places an enormous demand on women.

What we don’t always remember is the simple fact that the best time to begin a nutritional program for both mother and baby is before conception. Prenatal vitamins are meant to be a "supplement" or addition to an adequate nutritional state; but if your body is in a state of deficiency, prenatal vitamins may not be adequate to bring you to optimal nutritive health.

At Midwest Wellness Center, we look at your overall health and nutritional habits. We work with you and your obstetrician to correct any imbalances, deficiencies, or any other concerns you may have.

If you are pregnant, or considering pregnancy, we offer a comprehensive program designed to meet your nutritional needs during this crucial time. We also help you to develop essential dietary habits that we hope will continue long after your pregnancy, enhancing your health and that of your family.
