Increasingly,
we are hearing about the relationship between nutrition and cancer.
Not only are studies finding a diet link to causes of cancer,
but we are learning about nutrition as a preventive measure as
well.
If you or
someone you love has been diagnosed with cancer, you know about
the complex decisions to be made and challenges to face. Should
the cancer be treated with surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy?
Will the treatment be successful? If so, for how long? When we
consider such serious and frightening questions, all aspects of
our person - body, mind, and spirit - are placed under extreme
strain and stress.
Cancer weakens
us, making us vulnerable. Side effects from treatment make it
difficult to heal and combat the disease. Clearly, good health
and strong defenses are crucial for recovery.
At Midwest
Wellness Center, we will work with you at any stage - from a preventive
approach to developing an intensive program that will prepare
your body for treatment or help you in the recovery and healing
process. Dr. Wand will work with your oncologist if you desire.
In addition to developing your individualized nutritional program,
Dr. Wand may also recommend other supportive therapies, such as
healing touch or acupuncture.
Even the very
weak and debilitated have benefited from appropriate nutritional
programs, easing not only physical symptoms, but providing more
energy to cope with the many emotional and spiritual issues involved.
